Drawing from my eight years of experience working in the timeshare industry, I am perplexed by the lack of cultivating new talent.  College students who desire a career in the timeshare industry are often confused about where to start in their endeavor.  They are faced with determining if they want to pursue a career in sales, marketing, resort operations or human resources to name a few.  Generally, the individual wants to explore multiple avenues in order to “learn the business”.  The future employee population within the timeshare industry needs to be trained properly, and given wide exposure to the many facets of this business.  A perfect place to find the next generation of timeshare employees should be our institutions of higher learning.

Mobius Vendor Partners, for example, has been a student mentor at the last few ARDA Conventions.  There is something about helping a young mind explore the many opportunities the timeshare industry offers that makes me feel good about myself.  To see the excitement on a young person’s face when making an introduction for them to a timeshare operator gives me a sense of pride.  Our firm has been successful in not only educating young minds about our industry, but providing them a springboard to launch their career into the timeshare industry. 

I challenge the AskMando.com community to reach out to the younger generation and show them what a wonderful life we live and work in.  You never know, you may just find a suitable candidate to drive your organization for the next 10 or 20 years.
