Dealing with Piles of Comment Cards

I just had a conversation with a resort General Manager who told me a stack of comment cards sat on their desk 6 inches high!  Being curious, I asked what date was on the comment card at the bottom of the stack?  April 23, 2009 was their reply.

It's one thing to collect data, but you have to input that data and have the data in a reportable format in order to address consumers' objections, desires or wants in a timely manner.  Otherwise, why go down the path of having people fill out the comment cards if they aren't going to be used?

I told them to visit www.customercount.info and see what we have developed for the timeshare industry which may assist them in using that stack of dormant comment cards.  You would be surprised at how cost and time efficient it is using existing technology to help run resort operations.

Take care,

Marc Carlson

  • I am surprised that not every one in the industry is jumping all over this.  Information is power!  Power to the people (OK, now I'm getting carried away.)...
